Funds of funds specialist T. Bailey has recruited Philippa Gee, one of the UK’s best-known financial commentators, to head up its Marketing and Communications team.
Gee, an experienced and widely respected financial adviser, was previously Investments Director at Torquil Clark.
Gee, who holds qualifications in personal and corporate financial planning, taxation and trusts and mortgage advice, has long been regarded as one of the country’s most respected investment experts.
Her arrival at T. Bailey represents the latest in a recent series of crunch-defying appointments by the award-winning boutique.
She said: “I’ve always been a fan of funds of funds in general and T. Bailey in particular.
“I’m a firm believer that for a large number of investors funds of funds offer the most cost-effective way of accessing the benefits of fund selection, diversification, asset allocation and active management and I’m thrilled to be joining one of the UK’s leading multi-manager teams.”
T. Bailey CEO and Fund Manager Jason Britton added: “Everyone in the industry knows Philippa as a highly regarded investment specialist with a real ability to communicate her expertise.
“That makes her appointment a real coup for us. We have always had an excellent reputation for communications, and now we are in a position to take things to yet another level.”
Gee has worked on a number of successful product launches, chaired Torquil Clark’s Investment Committee and has served as a consultant to the Treasury.
Britton said: “The fact that we are able to attract someone of the calibre of Philippa, who commands such huge respect within the industry, sends out a strong signal of our intent. Many other groups are cutting back, but we are investing in the future.
“At challenging times like this our adviser supporters and clients need to be well-informed about what is happening to our funds and to the markets in general, and few people are in a better position than Philippa to communicate such crucial issues.”
Gee is the latest in a series of appointments by the fund of funds specialist, which recently boosted its investment team with the recruitment of analyst Mark Wright from Williams de Broe. It has also strengthened its compliance team to meet growing demand for the third party administration side of the T. Bailey business

The value of your investment and the income derived from it can go down as well as up, and you may not get back the money you invested. When investing in retail unit classes, capital appreciation will be affected by the impact of initial charges and you should therefore view your investment as a medium to long-term holding.
