Three boutiques head North

Published 12:00AM 15 April 2010

Three of the UK’s leading boutique fund managers are to share their investment knowledge at a series of seminars for IFAs in Scotland.

T. Bailey, Midas Capital Partners and Sarasin & Partners will co-host the events next month for advisers and wealth managers north of the border.

T. Bailey Assistant Fund Manager Elliot Farley will explain the concept behind the fund of funds specialist’s new T. Bailey Growth Fund LITE.

Midas’s Nick Greenwood, Manager of the CF Miton Select Assets Fund, will present his macro views and discuss his investment strategy.

And Manager Mark Whitehead will talk about the investment philosophies that underpin the Sarasin International Equity Income Fund.

The first event will take the form of a breakfast seminar at the Abode Hotel, Bath Street, Glasgow, on May 11, starting at 8.15am.

The second will be held on the same day at the Sheraton Grand Hotel and Spa, Festival Square, Edinburgh, beginning at 12.15am.

Sarasin Business Development Manager John Pringle said: “We want to take on a range of subjects and offer our views on the current market environment.

“To ensure we do that we’ve put together an extremely busy programme to make maximum use of what we appreciate is IFAs’ very valuable time.”

John Alexander, Midas’s Head of Sales, added: “These seminars will be an excellent opportunity to address the needs of our clients in Scotland.

“We hope the advisers and wealth managers who attend will come away with a better understanding of our funds and all the benefits they offer.”

Philippa Gee, Head of Sales, Marketing and Communications at T. Bailey, predicted demand for the two-hour events would be high.

She said: “This is a rare opportunity to hear from three well respected fund management groups in one succinct session. They’ll be discussing funds and issues that are highly relevant to advisers at the moment.”

Attendance at both seminars will be strictly limited, but places can be reserved by contacting any of the co-hosts.
